Living on campus

Our Campus in Haarlem is a place to study, work and live for students and sometimes lecturers.

Our newly renovated studios house our students and visitors from all over the world since February 2023, turning our unique campus in the heart of Haarlem into a lively and dynamic cross-meeting place.

The proximity to the city centre and the green lung around the building as well as a start-up incubator, a film theatre, and the Cupola Café inside the building, contribute to a pleasant place to live and study.

Application Procedure

After you have been selected and once you have accepted our offer to enroll at Haarlem University of Applied Science we will contact you with the details on how to book your room.

In case you would like to use our offer of living on campus, please prepare to pay the first rental invoice consisting of:

  • a one-off contract and administration fee of 215€ (including kitchen and bedlinen package)
  • the pro-rata rent from the start of your contract until the end of that calendar month
  • the rent for the last two full rental months

Housing Allowance

Whether you are European or not sometimes the Dutch government contributes to your study success by giving you the possibility to apply for certain allowances. Check here to see if you qualify for housing allowance and contact us if you need help figuring out how to apply for it.

Make new friends and become a member of a vibrant community

Even when you are far from home, we believe that it is important for you to feel at home.

Living together with your classmates provides an excellent opportunity to get to know each other and to build deep friendships.

As studying at Haarlem Campus requires a lot of group-work, living together also makes it easier to plan these group meetings and generally enhances the overall academic community.

Additionally, living on campus has the benefit of allowing you to immediately focus on your studies as your housing is already arranged for you.

How to arrange student housing yourself

When studying at Haarlem Campus you are of course also free to arrange the housing yourself. Haarlem has plenty to offer in the way of student housing, and we are very happy to provide guidance and support in this matter.

Via student housing corporations

There are many housing corporations in the Netherlands that cater to students. When you register with one of these corporations, you will (usually) have to pay a fee.
